Electric Litany

Electric Litany

In their formative years Electric Litany occupied an abandoned town hall in East London. United by an affinity for post rock, synth pop and electronica, the four piece spent six months refining their sound before performing in underground venues across London. Within months the haunting, ethereal soundscapes reached audiences beyond London and their 2007 debut album “How to be a child and win the war” garnered multiple positive reviews. In 2013 the band released their second album, co-produced by Alan Parsons entitled ‘Enduring days you will overcome’ featuring an amalgamation of various musical influences shot through with stories of anarchy, love and freedom. The band were to work with Parsons again for their 2016 ‘Love EP’. In 2015 the band performed in Syntagma square in a stance against austerity. The event was witnessed by half a million people in Athens and was broadcast internationally. The following day the band performed alongside The Prodigy at Rockwave Festival in Greece as part of their 2015 summer tour.

The band returned in 2019 to release their third album, “Under A Common Sky”, written in Corfu and recorded at Fish Factory in North London. The album is inspired, not only by the nocturnal nature of the island but also the humanitarian climate in which we find ourselves. Elements of lightness find their way into the album as well as features of ethereal synths and saw the album’s first single ‘Sealight’ directed by award-winning director, Sakari Lerkkanen.
