Freedom Candlemaker constructs a celestial journey with his fusion of dreamy, esoteric pop with shimmery nu-folk and psychedelic rock soundscapes.
With years of production and collaboration credits on releases from Cyprus and beyond, Lefteris Moumtzis has also released some of the most celebrated independent outputs from the island as J.Kriste Master of Disguise, neo-rebetiko band Trio Tekke, as well as under his name, Lefteris Moumtizs. The artist later joined forces with his long-time friends and four of neighbouring Greece's finest touring and studio musicians. The result was the 2019 album 'Beaming Light' released as Freedom Candlemaker - a direct translation of the artist's name, Lefteris Moumtzis, into English. The artist is now gearing up for a series of releases.
Freedom Candlemaker live is a pulsating five-piece, consisting of four of the top players from the Athens music scene (Σtella,
Marina Satti, Pavlos Pavlidis, The Cave Children, Daphne & The Fuzz). Together they delve into Moumtzis' songs and deliver a meticulously crafted, colourful sound with conviction and energy.
Artists supported in the past include: Joan As Police Woman, Eleanor Friedberger, Micah P Hinson, amongst others in Berlin, Utrecht, Winterthur, Paris and throughout Greece.
