Theologos Mamolis - Luxemvourgo
Theologos Mamolis, a songwriter based on the Greek island of Nisyros, a dentist by day, presents his first album "Luxemvourgo". The album is a fresh approach to Greek pop music. Mamolis flirts with rebetiko, rock, reggae, never staying long enough in one style, to be stigmatised by it and he uses humour as an antidote to the difficulties of our times. In the album he sings most of his songs, while Petros Malamas, Stamatis Anastopoulos and Panagiotis Skoulas, also share singing duties. The production was taken care by Lefteris Moumtzis, who also plays most of the instruments.
Theologos was born in Athens and from his childhood he recalls countless hours of basketball and football; Fanis Christodoulou and the songs of Markos Vamvakaris and Loukianos Kilaidonis. He writes songs, mostly out of boredom and jealousy for Johnny Cash, Manu Chao, Vamvakaris and Kelaidonis. Over the past five years he has been trying to release his first album, and you who reads this text right now are the living proof that he has made it.
