LOUVANA RECORDS and STUDIO ELEVEN63 PRESENT:
STUDIO DRUMMING - A masterclass by drummer Michael Kapilidis and producer/engineer Andreas Trachonitis
Instructed by the well-known session drummer and performer, Michael Kapilidis (Anna Vissi, Alkinoos Ioannides, Eleonora Zouganeli) and one of Cyprus’ most sought-after producer/engineers, Andreas Trachonitis, a Studio Drumming Masterclass will be held at Studio eleven63 to provide both budding and working drummers and sound engineers/producers alike with a one-day training event. The masterclass will give an emphasis on drum recording and production techniques.
***Only 10 spaces available***
Divided into four sections, this hands-on series of classes will teach registrants the importance of strong collaborations between the drummer and the producer/engineer in order to fully conceptualise the recording and production process of an original song. Each part of the process will be given thorough analysis by Kapilidis and Trachonitis, with the lectures covering topics including: how a drum track may be produced; the drum kit selection, setup and tuning to the different microphones; microphone techniques that are applied in the studio; how a session drummer with the help of the producer/engineer may approach recording recording an original track, and finally how a drum take may be selected, edited and mixed for a production.
The masterclass is suitable for drummers, sound engineers and producers, regardless of style of music. Drummers will be able to further explore their knowledge and extend their palette when recording in the studio and both sound engineers and producers alike will be able to enhance their recording and production techniques. The event is ideal for those that wish to accelerate their technical knowledge with a hands-on approach by experienced professionals who also have extensive experience in teaching.
